Stereotypes in the Media: Analyze an episode of a television show that depicts different groups of people interacting with one another. Use the text to support your ideas, and include citations throughout and in the reference list for both the show and the text.

What is the show and how did you select that show? Describe the general premise of the show.
Explain two to three stereotypes that are present in the depiction of each group in the show.
Discuss how the stereotypes affect the characters. Are certain ethnic groups depicted in positions of power? Do certain genders seem to be assigned certain types of roles, plotlines, or personalities?
Analyze how the episode would change if the groups were depicted differently.
What do the depictions communicate to the viewing audience? Why is it important to analyze racial and ethnic depictions in media and entertainment? (Cite outside sources if used.)
