Aim
 To provide the student with fundamental concepts of momentum transfer which emphasize fluid statics, fluid dynamics, fluid metering, fluid transportation and pressure drop in packed and fluidized beds.
 To provide the student with basic knowledge on heat transfer and its applications in process operations field
Learning Outcomes
 Describe, apply and analyse the concepts of fluid statics.
 Describe, apply and analyze the concepts of fluid flow through pipes, packed and fluidized beds.
 Explain hydrodynamic boundary layer on a flat plate and circular pipe.
 Discuss fluid transportation and metering.
Preparation of Assignment based on the topic as per the format and writing the report is one of the key challenge for an engineer along with subject knowledge is a key competency requirement of an engineer. Also some analytical problems are provided to solve and submit with the report.
In this context, students are allowed to select a topic from the list of topics given within 5 days from the issue of the CW. The student should discuss and get the consent from the module leader on the selected topic. Students should ensure that the same topic is not repeated by any other group in that cohort. Each student is required to prepare typed assignment of the topic selected/allotted to the individual. In case, if any of student could not select the main topic, the module tutor will allocate one.
Student group with the assigned topic will be uploaded in the CCE Learn at the end of week of the semester.

The assignment should not exceed 1500 words and should include:
(i) Preamble of the topic identified;
(ii) Introduction;
(iii) Working principle;
(iv) Applications;
(v) Advantages & Disadvantages;
(vi) Conclusions; and
(vii) Appropriate references as per CCE Harvard style.
