Q1. Overview and purpose

In 100 words approx.  explain the purpose of your Implementation Plan



Q2 Routine Tasks and Legal and Ethical justifications.

You must detail at least 2 Work Tasks, you should use the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) template  and  and complete ensuring that you set out the purpose and methodology for each.

You must include justifications for each in legal and ethical terms and refer to your workplace policy for each – refer to requirements set out in the NHVR website for Chain of Responsibility.

The procedures are Customs Documentation and Hazardous Goods (Including MSDS) respectively – you should include a workflow diagram within one of the SOPs (you may use visio to do so – combine them together in a file for submission)


Q3 Transport and Logistics Freight Network – receiving through to final destinations

To demonstrate you knowledge to your client, Wallaby, you should set out in this section the whereabouts of the overall receiving and distribution network – this can be done using a collection of maps – 

–  Your receiving points i.e. the 3 transport company depot sites used for outbound freight

– 7 Wholesale outlets in China

– 2 Retail outlets in Taiwan

– 2 Retail outlets in Hong Kong

You should incorporate the objectives in terms of service levels for each in terms of timeliness, packaging quality and customer satisfaction.

From your knowledge of sortation systems – discuss where there may be automated sorting vs manual sorting, providing the likely transhipment points where this might occur en route.

Explain how the just-in-time inventory management principles are achieved in relation to using courier freight delivery to Hong Kong and Taiwan in contrast to the shipments going to mainland China.


Q4 Resources and Financial Planning

In this section you should set out how the resourcing levels will be determined for the operation and a list of at least 3 transport companies, whose services you plan to use – detail the modes they use by completing the matrix 

You must explain how you will calculate which resources are required and how you will predict the quantity needed. The resources are the people, the materials handling equipment and other technology which will be needed to complete the daily tasks of the transport operation.

You will need to include a budget which will enable the development, implementation and operation of the strategy. You must include insurance provision for all of the resources detailed above.

This should be supported by a cost benefit analysis of the overall processes and project.


Q5.Review Meetings – Alignment of Systems and Goals

Set out the format and sample agenda for your weekly review meetings detailing your collective strategic objectives. You should then expand on how and why you aim to achieve them (you should refer back to your PESTLE and SWOT analyses for the ‘why’)

The goal of these meetings is to ensure that customer service is embedded into your processes and your client is involved by their active participation in these meetings – in your plan you should set this out clearly.

You should set out what reports will be run to present results at these meetings and how you aim integrate your systems in order to ensure that both Management Information Systems (MIS) align to achieve seamless and effective reporting (EDI).



Q6. Reporting Protocols

How, when and what is to be reported, detailing all critical success factors for the operation with the differing KPIs to be used and what they are to measure.

It will be vital to set parameters around each KPI in order that you set out what is ‘effective’ and ‘efficient’ and therefore satisfy the stated needs of the stakeholders.

To make it really clear to the client – you should set out for example what you would do if your service levels dropped below the agreed 95% DIFOT level  – in fact to 90%. Explain what your contingency processes are and at the same time make clear what is at risk if the situation is not remedied with respect to your contractual obligations and liabilities. This should be written to put your client at ease.



Q7.Summary Implementation Plan

In this section you must include your Gantt Chart featuring all tasks and their duration along with your milestone dates.

To finish off, you should complete the PowerPoint slide ‘Implementation Plan Template’   to provide all summary information and dates completed for the successfully implemented plan
