Now that you have completed your nutrient analysis assignments, as your next step, develop a solid report and dietary plan for your own use and to demonstrate what you have learned.  This assignment should be a 1-2 page well developed analysis of what you have found.  In your report, you should include the following information.

Were your average daily total calories more or less than you expected?  Is your calorie intake appropriate for your energy needs and activity level?  What are your recommendations for changes in your diet and/or physical activity? (You will sturdy physical performance in greater detail in Module 4.)

In your diet, is there an appropriate ratio of calories from carbohydrates, fats, and proteins? (Cite dietary recommendations such as DRI’s for reference.)  What did you discover about your intake of saturated fat, empty calories, and fiber?  What are your recommendations for changes in your diet?

What did you learn about your consumption of the various nutrients?  Did you identify any nutrient deficiencies when considering the percent of the RDA or DRI?  What are your recommendations for changes in your diet?  Pay careful attention to how change in your intake of one nutrient might affect your intake of others.  Do you see any possible problems? How can the concept of nutrient density help you develop a healthier eating pattern?  Did you notice any foods that appeared multiple times in your review? Explain how those foods fit the concept of nutrient dense foods – or do they??
